CLASS Funding for Student 研究及创意工作
Burt Berlin generously established a fund to provide students who study the humanities to pursue projects, 机会, and endeavors that will enhance their education in the humanities. The 文学艺术学院, and 社会科学 is seeking proposals from students with such an opportunity or project that would benefit from financial support.
资格: Full-time undergraduate students who are majoring in the humanities (English, 一般的研究, majors in the School of Global Studies, 音乐, 戏剧艺术, 历史, JAMM, 哲学, and communication) or who are pursuing humanities projects may apply. Students must be CLASS majors who will also be enrolled for Fall 2025 and in good academic standing. 奖 from this fund are made to students displaying extraordinary talent in, 或者亲和力, a p艺术icular field or area of study, and who have achieved strong academic success to date in their college studies or who may be motivated or otherwise benefit markedly by the opportunity afforded by the award. The award's purpose is to support undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative 活动.
Students may apply for up to $3,000 to support their projects or enhancement 机会. A clear and detailed budget for these funds will need to be included with your application. The project or opportunity should occur over the summer and/or fall 2025 semester. Funds must be used while the student is enrolled and in good standing. If used during summer, the student must be enrolled for the following fall semester.
Scholarship Enhancement Opportunities may include but are not limited to the following:
- 参与研讨会, 会议, 研讨会, 比赛, 竞赛, and related 活动 at off-campus sites.
- P艺术icipation in special projects designed to advance your knowledge and understanding of a p艺术icular subject matter, which involve fees and expenses to compete or p艺术icipate in projects.
- Special undergraduate research projects, 活动, and undertakings involving the need for financial assistance (including tuition and other support to pursue internship 机会).
- Attendance and/or p艺术icipation in 音乐, 艺术, 诗歌, 文学, and other humanities events on and off campus.
- 旅行, 住宿, and related costs incurred by students while attending and p艺术icipating in the previous 活动 (including study abroad 机会).
Following the award and completion of the funding period, students will be expected to provide a final report of their experience, 活动, or scholarship to the dean's office.
The application will require a project narrative describing the project or opportunity and highlighting how this funding will enhance your study of the humanities. We suggest you prepare your narrative (750 words) and detailed line-item budget in advance and be ready to paste them into the application found at the link above.

The CLASS Undergraduate Collaborative 研究 Key Grant is designed to encourage collaboration between CLASS faculty and undergraduate students on scholarly or creative projects, 包括文章或书籍, 会议, 表演, 产品, 研讨会, 旅行, and professional development experiences.
